ILA Dues Are Now Tax-deductible
The ILA was recently granted non-profit status by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. The benefits of having this status include exemption from federal income tax and eligibility to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions, depending upon the donor's or member's tax situation.
The Indian Lake Association (ILA) is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under chapter 181 of the State of Wisconsin statues. It is also recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) as a "qualified lake association" which enables the ILA to apply for WDNR grants for the benefit of the lake. The ILA is a tax exempt IRS 501(c)(3) organization. The Association has no paid employees and relies solely on the volunteer efforts of its members.
ILA Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering for the association can be as easy as spending a few hours at the boat landing with other Clean Boats, Clean Waters (CBCW) volunteers or writing a newsletter article. Indian Lake is a special place to all of us, and volunteering to help with one of the ILA committees will give you the opportunity to meet and engage with your lake neighbors while making a difference to the current and future health of the lake.
ILA has a number of volunteer opportunities. Your assistance will contribute to the success of our association. Please contact the association if your would like more information, or wish to volunteer on one of our standing committees.

Clean Boats - Clean Waters
You may have noticed Clean Boats, Clean Waters volunteers checking boats at the Indian Lake public boat landing. Clean Boats, Clean Waters is a WDNR program that includes teams of volunteers that help perform boat and trailer checks, disseminate informational brochures and educate boaters on how to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. The Clean Boats, Clean Waters program is a key initiative to help keep Indian Lake free of aquatic invasive species.
